Description

Complete Specification Standard Patent Pillion Passenger Belt The following statement is a full description of this invention.
By: Luke Sugars.
Page 2.
Pillion Passenger Belt.
This invention relates to the carrying of a pillion passenger on any vehicle intended to carry a pillion.
When riding pillion on a vehicle the passenger relies on his grip to either the rider or the vehicle itself. A pillion holding directly onto the riders body may feel uncomfortable or unstable holding onto the riders clothing, and when a pillion holds onto the vehicle itself, he can unbalance the vehicle as well as not having a secure grip if trouble occurs, therefore making the ride uncomfortable for both rider and passenger.
These problems are overcome by this presented invention, which gives the pillion passenger a firm secure grip onto the rider and centring the balance of the vehicle, therefore giving the passenger more confidence, making it a more comfortable and safer ride for both passenger and rider.
The pillion passenger belt is secured around the rider's waist; handles are sewn into the accessory designed to sit on the rider's hips. The pillion grips onto these handles giving them a secure and firm hold, opposed to the unstable grip when holding onto the riders clothing.
A centre of gravity is achieved when a pillion is able to have a secure grip onto the riders waist, opposed to the pillion holding onto the back of the vehicle putting an uneven distribution of weight on the vehicle which they are a passenger on. An example of this is riding pillion on a motorcycle holding onto the bag rack mounted on the back of the bike.
The accessory consists of two handles sewn into its structure which are positioned on the rider's torso to give the pillion passenger maximum comfort and confidence when holding onto the driver of the vehicle.
The accessory may be made of yaughting acrylic or canvass or any other material with a high strength factor.
The handles may be made of webbing or strapping such as seat belt strapping or any other high strength material.
The accessory will fasten around the rider by means of Velcro or push studs or any other fastening device.

Fig.2 Shows the male-sided Velcro strips for fastening.
Webbing sewn into the perimeter of the belt, for maximum strength which also forms the handles the pillion holds Fig.3 Shows the Velcro straps fastening over one another.
Shows how the webbing handles curve away from the sides to form the pillion holding capabilities of the pillion passenger belt.
