Abstract
The invention relates to a cutting tool, in particular a cutting-off wheel, a drill bit or saw cable comprising a base body made of steel with a cutting coating melted thereon. Said coating consists of a metallic compound containing hard materials or a metallic alloy containing hard materials. The metallic compound, metallic alloy or synthetic material contains a proportion of a metal which promotes wetting of the hard material, a proportion of such a metallic compound or metallic alloy, or a proportion of a wetting-promotive material such as boron. Between the metallic compound or alloy and the base body, an intermediary layer is deposited which consists of a non-ferrous metal, a non-ferrous metallic compound or a non-ferrous metallic alloy not containing any proportion of a wetting-promotive metal, or of such a metallic compound or alloy, or of a wetting-promotive material like boron.
