DOOR HANGING GUIDE This invention relates to a improved method of hanging or fitting hinged doors to door frames.
The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me.
1. This door hanging guide will automatically give the user the correct clearance required on top of the door to be fitted. It ill also automatically correct the depth of the door being fitted in relation to the doorframe, 2, For many people in the building trade this door hanging guide will be beneficial in saving time and being accurate in the hanging of doors.
3, The door hanging guide may be made of any suitable materials, such as metal or moulded plastic, 4, To assist with understanding the invention, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings which show two examples of the invention, 5. In the drawings, figure 1 shows one example of the door hanging guide according to this invention, 6. Figure 2 shows the application of such a door hanging guide to a corner of a door and doorframe.
7. There are two differences of thicknesses in the guide, part 1 will give the clearance S required on top of the door being fixed, and prt 2 the depth of the door into the doorframe. The guide is placed on top of the hinged side of the door being fitted. The door in an open position can then be placed against the frame with the hinges in place (on the door) and then lifted into the doorframe until the guide touches the top of the frame, The top hinge on the door is then ready to be screwed off to the doorframe.
