Abstract

The invention concerns a constriction device (1) intended to reduce the flow of blood through an extremity of the body. The device has a constriction element (7), designed to be laid round the extremity, which includes a lock and whose girth can be adjusted so that it lies tighter or looser round the extremity. The device proposed by the invention is characterized in that the constriction element (7, 7a, 7b) includes a vein-holding device (9) with a channel (12) forming a gap (10) into which a vein can be inserted and firmly held in place.
