Abstract

The sensor is connected with a pressing piston and a pressing cylinder (31) for pressing and/or clamping a work piece in such a manner that the cylinder and the piston are not activated or a pressing or clamping process is not executable or is blocked, when the dimension of the gap or the slot is equal or larger than a preset distance value. A tension spring (23) drives a pressing and/or clamping tool, while inserting the work piece in a closing direction with a force. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a pressing and clamping tool and/or a machine.
