Abstract

1. A flame igniting and monitoring apparatus having an ignition flame directed towards burners and a safety flame situated lower and directed towards a thermocouple element, characterised in that the pilot-flame nozzle (5) is directed towards the under side of a deflector (2) consisting of refractory ceramic material and forms the under side of an impact surface (9) from which branch off at least one arched downwardly inclined flow-off trough (15) for the flames (10, 11) and at least one flow trough (14) extending substantially horizontally for the safety flame (13) directed towards the thermocouple element (6).
