Abstract

The method produces evacuated components for heat insulation, these each comprising a casing filled with insulating material forming a distance piece, partic. porous or powdery and with irregularly-shaped particles, such as diatomite. After the filled casing has been evacuated and sealed vacuum- tight, a predetermined high pressure is applied to part of it at least, causing irreversible distortion of casing and contents.
