Abstract

The device serves to cut tiles and/or plates and has an elongated support part for the workpieces, on the narrow sides of which bearing blocks are arranged. The latter carry guide rails running parallel to the longitudinal extent of the support part and arranged above the same. A slide can be displaced along these guide rails. Mounted on this slide is an actuating lever (6) which carries the cutting tool (9), has an actuating handle and can be pivoted about a pivot axis (28). The actuating lever (6) is mounted so as to be vertically adjustable inside the slide. An adjusting lever (19) pivotable about the axis (28) stationary in the slide is provided in or parallel to the pivoting plane of the actuating lever (6). Its free end directed towards the actuating handle of the actuating lever (6) can be secured to the latter. A bearing journal (31) lying parallel to the pivot axis (28) of the adjusting lever (19) is linked to the latter. The bearing journal (31) for the actuating lever (6) lies nearer to the pivot axis (28) of the adjusting lever (19) than to its free end. The adjusting lever (19) is of one-armed design and carries at its end a clamping screw (30) which passes through a circular-arc-shaped recess (24) on the actuating lever (6). <IMAGE>
