 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

In the Cöthenel Chemiker-Zeitung 1921, No. 102, is about two new elastic masses, u. between Ze'loid rubber and Zellonkautsehuk reported. In the case of celluloid rubber, the manufacturing process specified there has proven itself in practice, but the acetyl celluloses were still so difficult to dissolve in the hydrogenation products of naphthalene and phenol and their homologues and analogues that the production of acetyl cellulose rubber was only possible using the process described below.

All types of rubber, gutta-percha, balata and synthetic rubbers are dissolved in the hydrogenation products of naphthalene or phenol, their homologues and analogues or their mixtures in the cold or heat, whereupon the dispersed colloidal acetyl celluloses produced by the process of patent no. 93174 are dissolved are added and the mixture is homogenized in a kneading machine, so that an acetyl cellulose suspension in rubber solutions is formed. The technical effect lies in the formation of its colloidal acetyl cellulose rubber suspension, while according to the above-mentioned method of representation according to the Chemiker-Zeitung only an incomplete acetyl cellulose solution is produced.

Example: 6 kg of dry acetyl cellulose, brought to colloidal grain size according to the method of patent no. 93174, are homogenized in a 10% Ceylon crepe rubber solution in a kneading machine. This thick mass can be diluted as desired with the rubber solvent. The dilutions are used as varnishes and impregnating agents, the residues freed from the solvent form the acetyl cellulose rubber, a plastic, flexible mass for films, umbrella handles, etc. The process therefore differs from that of the above patent in that dispersoids are not produced in the rubber solution, Instead, an acetyl cellulose rubber is produced from finished, colloidal acetyl cellulose.

These acetyl cellulose rubber suspensions can be used in a wide variety of ways as paints, impregnating agents and the like. use.

The residue obtained by evaporating the solvent can be removed in the usual way
 EMI1.2
The products are characterized by great elasticity.

**WARNUNG** Ende CLMS Feld Kannt Anfang DESC uberlappen**. PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of synthetic compositions from colloidal acetyl cellulose and rubber, characterized in that acetyl cellulose of colloidal grain size produced according to the process of patent no. 93174 is intimately mixed with rubber carbon hydrogen solutions of any kind, so that colloidal acetyl cellulose rubber suspensions are formed and the solvent is then evaporated processed the remaining residue in the usual way on artificial masses. ** WARNING ** End of CLMS field may overlap beginning of DESC **.
