  Verfahren zur Herstellung von dünnwandigen Steuerungsventilen für Dampfmaschinen. 



   Die Erfindung hat ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von dünnwandigen Steuerungsventilen für Dampfmaschinen zum Gegenstande. Bisher hat man diese Steuerungsventile fast ausschliesslich durch Giessen hergestellt. Aus Gussrücksichten mussten naturgemäss die Wandungen des Ventils sowie die Rippen zwischen Ventil und Nabe eine bestimmte Wandstärke erhalten, die nicht unterschritten werden durfte. Aus diesem Grunde auch wurden derartige Ventile ziemlich schwer und das Durchströmen des Dampfes zwischen Nabe und Ventilkörper war durch die den   Durchströmquerschn. tt   stark verengenden Rippen beeinträchtigt.

   Der Erfindung gemäss werden nun derartige Steuerungsventile aus einem Metallblock (vorzugsweise Stahl) hergestellt, indem zunächst durch Pressung ein den Ventilumrissen entsprechender Rohling erzeugt wird, der dann durch Abdrehen des äusseren Umfanges und durch Ausstanzen oder Ausstossen des inneren Durchströmquerschnittes zum fertigen Ventil vervollständigt wird. Es ist dadurch möglich, dünnwandige Ventile von grosser Gleichmässigkeit des Gefüges und hoher Festigkeit und Elastizität zu erhalten, die sehr leicht sind und sich namentlich für schnellaufende Dampfmaschinen und für hohe Überhitzungen eignen. 



   In der Zeichnung ist die Herstellung eines derartigen Ventils veranschaulicht, und zwar zeigt Fig.   I   den Ventilrohling in gepresstem Zustande und Fig. 2 und 3 das fertige   Ventil in Querschnitt und Oberansicht. 



  Die Herstellung des Ventils erfolgt in der Weise, dass zunächst aus einem Stahl-   block o. dgl. durch Pressung in entsprechend geformten Matrizen ein Rohling hergestellt wird, der gemäss Fig.   1   bereits die ungefähren Umrisse des Ventils aufweist. Es ist dann nur nötig, die äussere   Seitenfläche   entsprechend der Linie a abzudrehen und aus dem inneren Körper b die Ausnehmungen c auszustossen oder auszustanzen, um das fertige Ventil zu erhalten. Diese Herstellungsart ermöglicht auch, den   Ventilkörper, f und   die Rippen g sehr dünnwandig herzustellen und dadurch alle die Vorteile zu erreichen, die durch ein geringes Gewicht des Ventils bedingt sind.

   Trotzdem weist ein solches Ventil neben hoher Elastizität auch hohe Festigkeit auf, weil durch den Pressvorgang die kleinsten Teilchen des Werkstoffes dicht aneinander gelagert werden.

   The subject of the invention is a process for the production of thin-walled control valves for steam engines. So far, these control valves have been manufactured almost exclusively by casting. For casting considerations, the walls of the valve and the ribs between the valve and the hub naturally had to be given a certain wall thickness that was not allowed to be less than this. For this reason, such valves also became quite heavy and the flow of steam between the hub and valve body was through the flow cross section. tt severely affected narrowing ribs.

   According to the invention, such control valves are now made from a metal block (preferably steel) by first producing a blank corresponding to the valve outline by pressing, which is then completed by turning off the outer circumference and by punching or ejecting the inner flow cross-section to form the finished valve. It is thereby possible to obtain thin-walled valves of great uniformity of structure and high strength and elasticity, which are very light and are particularly suitable for high-speed steam engines and for high overheating.



   The drawing illustrates the manufacture of such a valve, namely FIG. 1 shows the valve blank in the pressed state and FIGS. 2 and 3 show the finished valve in cross section and top view.



  The valve is produced in such a way that a blank is first produced from a steel block or the like by pressing in appropriately shaped dies, which according to FIG. 1 already has the approximate outline of the valve. It is then only necessary to turn off the outer side surface according to the line a and to push out or punch out the recesses c from the inner body b in order to obtain the finished valve. This type of production also makes it possible to produce the valve body f and the ribs g with very thin walls and thereby achieve all the advantages that are due to the low weight of the valve.

   Nevertheless, in addition to high elasticity, such a valve also has high strength, because the smallest particles of the material are stored close together during the pressing process.
