Einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform gemäss werden die Dämpfe vor ihrer Einwirkung auf die Borate, soweit als tunlich, von dem mit übergehenden Wasser befreit. Der ganze Vorgang spielt sich am zweckmässigsten im luftverdünnten Raum ab. Es ist vorteilhaft, die Einwirkung unter leichter Erwärmung der Borate vor sich gehen zu lassen. ;

Process for the representation of perborates.
The subject of the present invention is a process for the preparation of perborates, which is essentially characterized in that gaseous hydrogen peroxide is allowed to act on borates. It is already known to produce sodium perborate from borax and hydrogen peroxide. For this purpose, however, borax and soda were added to an aqueous solution of hydrogen superoxide. The use of gaseous superoxide has compared to this known process and in comparison with all other technically executed processes, which almost exclusively consist of expensive raw materials, such as sodium superoxide
EMI1.1
is obtained immediately in solid form.
The elimination of the extraction of the perborate formed from a solution naturally also means a great simplification and cheaper production.
The gaseous hydrogen peroxide is liberated by distillation of excess sulfuric acid. Instead of starting directly from the supersulfuric acid, persulfates can also be heated with the addition of sulfuric acid to carry out the process and, after they have been dehydrated, the distillation products can be brought into close contact with borates.
According to a preferred embodiment, the vapors are, as far as possible, freed from the water which passes over with them before they act on the borates. The whole process takes place most appropriately in an air-diluted room. It is advantageous to allow the borates to take effect while heating the borates slightly. ;
The following should be mentioned as an exemplary embodiment:
The solution of supersulfur, obtained in a known manner by electrolytic means
EMI1.2
Very dry, e.g. B. passed through concentrated sulfuric acid. and then passed through series absorbers containing borax.
Absorption is best at a slightly elevated temperature, such as 45 C, so it is advisable to keep the temperature in the absorption vessels at this level at all times.
The perborate obtained, which is still somewhat moist, is dried at a low temperature.
