Wenn zwischen dem Hauptkondensator c der Anlage und den üblichen Pumpen e bloss ein einziges Rohr s (Fig. 2) angeordnet ist, das ein zu der Vakuumerhöhungsvorrichtung 9 führendes Zweigrohr k besitzt, so wird das Rohr s nach unten verlängert, so dass sein unteres, in das Gefäss p hineinragendes Ende um den erforderlichen Betrag unterhalb des Niveaus des in dem Gefässe p angesammelten Kondensates liegt. Ebenso wie bei der Ausführungsform nach Fig. 1 sammeln sich die aus der Vorrichtung 9 austretenden nicht kondensierten Dämpfe in dem oberhalb des Wasserverschlusses liegenden Raum q des Gefässes p an, von wo sie mittels der Pumpen e abgesaugt werden.
Die nicht kondensierten Dämpfe können somit nicht in den Einlass der Vorrichtung g zurückströmen, wogegen das in dem Gefäss p angesanunelte Kondensat in das Rohr k abfliessen kann, um zu verhindern, dass in dem Turbinengehäuse a das Kondensat über das Niveau m, su ansteigt.
Die das Überströmen des nicht kondensierten Dampfes aus dem Rohr in das zum Einlass der Vorrichtung g führende Rohr verhindernde Vorrichtung kann in verschiedener Weise ausgestaltet werden. Für den angestrebten Zweck ist bloss erforderlich, dass diese Vorrichtung die
