Abstract
Cutting shaft tool has shaft outer side which is formed of hard metal housing (2) in which steel core (3) is inserted. The cutting shaft tool has hard metal- cutter head (7), and the shaft (1) is manufactured from steel. The steel made shaft part is connected torque proof with the hard metal cutter head preferably over a thread.
Description
Spanabhebendes Schaftwerkzeug
Chip removal tool
The invention relates to a chip removing shank tool with a carbide cutting head.
Tungsten carbide shank tools, such as end mills, are expensive to manufacture, especially as the entire shank tool is made of cemented carbide. If such a shank tool is used in automatic processing machines, for example a milling machine, after a certain wear and tear, the shank tool must be sharpened by regrinding. For the sharpened shank tool, a readjustment to the machine tool is then to be made.
The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages and difficulties and has as its object to provide a shank tool of the type described above, can be avoided with the new settings after a closure.
In addition, not only thereby, but also by the shank tool itself should be possible cost savings.
This object is achieved according to the invention that the shaft is at least partially made of steel. Preferred variants are set forth in the subclaims.
The invention is described below with reference to an exemplary embodiment, which is shown schematically in the drawing, wherein Fig.l illustrate an exploded view of the tool and Fig. 2, the assembly of the individual parts, respectively in longitudinal section. Fig. 3 shows the composite shaft tool also in longitudinal section.
According to the illustrated embodiment, the shaft 1 has a cylindrically shaped hard metal sleeve 2 into which a cylindrical steel core 3 can be inserted accurately.
The cylindrical steel core 3 has at one end a projecting collar 4, with which it comes after insertion into the hard metal sleeve 2 at the one end 5 of the same to the plant. The steel core 3 is designed to be somewhat shorter than the hard metal sleeve 2 and has an internal thread 6 at its end located inside the hard metal sleeve 2. The outer side of the hard metal sleeve 2 comes into contact with the chuck when it is inserted into the machine tool. The cutting head 7 of the shank tool - in the example shown is a milling head, but it could also be a drill head, a tap, a reamer or a countersink etc. be - is provided with an external thread 8 which is screwed into the internal thread 6 of the steel core 3.
For centering the cutting head 7 on the hard metal sleeve 2, a centering collar 10 is provided between the external thread 8 and the cutting 9 supporting part of the cutting head 7, which has an outer diameter 11 which corresponds to the inner diameter 12 of the hard metal sleeve 2 such that a precisely fitting and backlash-free Insertion is given in the hard metal sleeve 2.
The cutting 9 supporting part of the cutting head 7 projects beyond the centering collar 10 radially outwards and comes with the free end face 13 of the hard metal sleeve 2 after insertion and screwing into the steel core 3 to the plant.
The cutting head 7 is a relatively small part, therefore correspondingly cheap, and can be exchanged for a new after dulling, so that the shaft tool always has the same length and a replacement of a milling machine no readjustment of the tool, which is extremely time and labor intensive, required. You also save yourself a re-sharpening.
