Die Verbindung der Kanten von aus zwei oder mehreren Lagen bestehenden Teilen von Ledergalanteriewaren geschieht baher meist in der Weise, dass das Ende des einen Teiles über die Kante des anderen Teiles und der Einlage, falls eine solche vorhanden ists herumgelegt und mittels einer Naht festgelegt wird. Diese Verbindungsart verursacht eine nachteilig wirkende Verdickung der Kanten. Um nun keine solche Verdickung zu erhalten, werden die Enden der'herumzulegenden Teile abgeschrägt. Dadurch wird jedoch die Dauerhaftigkeit der Verbindung beeinträchtigt, weil die durch die Abschrägung ge. schwächten Kanten leicht durchgewetzt werden und dann auch die Naht verletzt wird. Man bringt, um dies zu verhüten, vielfach Eck-oder Kantensebienen aus Metall oder solche Eckstücke an den miteinander verbundenen Lederteilen an.
Durch diese aber verlieren die Kanten ihre Biegsamkeit, so dass die Waren, insbesondere Geldbörsen, Brieftaschen u. dgl., den Bedingungen einer in jeder Hinsicht befriedigenden Gebrauchsnahme nicht mehr genügen.
Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft nun eine Kantenverbindung solcher Teile, die alle vorerwähnten Übelstände beseitigt und feste, dauerhafte und in ihrer Biegsamkeit nicht beeinträchtigte Kanten ergibt Dies wird gemäss der Erfindung dadurch erreicht, dass die Enden des Ober-und des Futterleders bezw. der Einlage, falls eine solche vorhanden ist, aneinander oder übereinander gelegt werden und auf die Kanten eine Perlenschnur oder ein Perlenstäbchen (Kugelkette) mit Hilfe einer zwischen die Perlen greifenden Naht, welche die Lederteile miteinander verbindet, festgenäht wird.
In der Zeichnung ist der Erfindungsgegenstand beispielsweise veranschaulicht, und zwar zeigt Fig. 1 ein Stück eines mit einer Kanten Verbindung gemäss der Erfindung versehenen Teiles eines Geldtäschchens, Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach der Linie A-A der Fig. 1 und Fig. 3 ein Stück eines gemäss der Erfindung benützten Perlenstäbchens (Kugelkette).
Auf die aneinandergelegten Kanten a der zu verbindenden Teile, z. B. des Oberloders b und des Futterleders c, ist eine Perlenschnur oder ein Perlenstäbchen d aufgelegt und mittels einer die Lederteile miteinander verbindenden sogenannten Doppelsattlernaht e, die zwischen die Perlen f geschlungen ist, festgenäht. Dadurch werden die Kanten der Teile b und c nicht nur fest miteinander verbunden, sondern auch gegen eine Abnützung wirksam geschützt. Gleichzeitig bleibt aber auch die Biegsamkeit der Kanten vollkommen erhalten.

This type of connection causes a disadvantageous thickening of the edges. In order not to obtain such a thickening, the ends of the parts to be laid around are beveled. However, this affects the durability of the connection because the ge by the chamfer. weakened edges are easily rubbed through and then the seam is also damaged. To prevent this, corner or edge bees made of metal or such corner pieces are often attached to the leather parts connected to one another.

The present invention relates to an edge connection of such parts, which eliminates all of the above-mentioned inconveniences and results in solid, durable edges that are not impaired in their flexibility. On the juxtaposed edges a of the parts to be connected, z. B. the Oberloder b and the lining leather c, a string of pearls or a pearl rod d is placed and sewn by means of a so-called double saddle seam e that connects the leather parts and is looped between the pearls f. As a result, the edges of parts b and c are not only firmly connected to one another, but also effectively protected against wear.
