Dazu wird das Rohrende in einen Ringspalt zwischen einer starren Stützhülse und einer konzentrischen Preßhülse geschoben und die Preßhülse sodann mit einer Preßzange auf das Rohrende gepreßt. Dabei erfolgt eine irreversible Verformung der Preßhülse und des Rohrendes, welches sich dichtend gegen die Mantelfläche der Stützhülse legt. Letztere ist mit Ringnuten ausgestattet und trägt ferner einoder mehrere O-Ringe, damit der dichte Anschluß des Rohres an dem Verbindungsstück gewährleistet ist. Wird allerdings das Rohrende nicht bis zum Grund des Ringspaltes zwischen der Stützhülse und der Preßhülse eingeschoben, dann erfolgt ein Verpressen nur in unzureichendem Maße. Die Erfindung zielt darauf ab, bei einem Verbindungsstück zum Aufpressen auf ein Rohr, eine einfache und zuverlässige Kontrollmöglichkeit dafür zu schaffen, daß das Rohrende tatsächlich bis zum Ende des Ringspaltes, also weitestgehend vollständig eingeschoben ist und damit die maximale Überdeckung zum Zweck des Verpressens zur Verfügung steht. Dies wird bei einem Verbindungsstück der eingangs beschriebenen Art dadurch erreicht, daß der Isolierring radiale Durchbrüche als Kontrollfenster zur Kontrolle und Feststellung der maximalen Einschubtiefe des Rohres in den Ringspalt aufweist. Die Durchbrüche oder Fenster liegen im Bereich des inneren Endes des Ringspaltes und lassen erkennen, ob das Rohr bis dorthin eingeschoben ist. Sobald das Rohr hinter den Kontrollfenstern erscheint, kann der Preßvorgang durchgeführt werden. Die Fenster ermöglichen somit vor dem Verpressen, während des Verpressens und nach dem Verpressen eine Positionskontrolle des Rohres im Verbindungsstück. Vor der Montage umschließen die Preßhülsen, die von den Isolierringen in Position gehalten werden, die Stützhülsen und schützen diese vor Beschädigung der Dichtfiächen mit den Dichtungsnuten und den O-Ringen. Die Fenster erleichtern ferner das Einschieben eines Rohres, da das Luftvolumen im Ringspalt beim Einschieben des Rohres durch die Fenster entweichen kann und nicht als Einschubdämpfung zur Wirkung kommt.The invention aims to provide a simple and reliable control option for a connector for pressing onto a pipe, so that the pipe end is actually fully inserted up to the end of the annular gap, so that the maximum coverage is available for the purpose of pressing stands. Es ist zweckmäßig, wenn der Isolierring mit einem Ringwulst am Ende der Preßhülse formschlüssig aufsitzt, daß an den Ringwulst ein zylindrischer Teil etwa in Fortsetzung der Mantelfläche der Preßhülse anschließt, in welchem die Durchbrüche vorgesehen sind, daß der zylindrische Teil eine Ringscheibe trägt, deren Innendurchmesser etwa dem Außendurchmesser der Stützhülse entspricht, wobei sich eine Kreisringfläche an der Ringscheibe als Anlagefläche für die Stirnseite eines vollständig eingeschobenen Rohres ergibt und daß der zylindrische Teil im Anschluß an die Ringscheibe formschlüssig, insbesondere drehbar an dem Ansatzbereich der Stützhülse angreift. Der Isolierring hat eine axiale Ausdehnung in Verlängerung der Preßhülse. Dort sind die Kontrollfenster vorgesehen. Der Ringwulst im Bereich der Verbindung mit der Preßhülse dient einerseits der manschettenartigen Verstärkung dieser Verbindung und anderseits als Preßbackenzentrierwulst zur Positionierung der Preßzange oder des Preßwerkzeuges.
