Ein solcher Tonzusatz verhindert das Verstopfen des Siebes durch den Zucker und Karborund und das Gemisch lässt sich dadurch leichter und besser formen.

Gasmengen entwickeln, so empfiehlt es sich noch, fein verteilten Graphit zuzusetzen, dessen Mango von der Menge der entweichenden Gase abhängt. Nach beendigter Bildung und Herausnahme des Gussstückes aus seiner Form kann der um das Gussstück herumliegende feste Körper vermählen oder sonstwie in einen fein verteilten Zustand zurückgeführt werden, um dann nach Zusatz einiger Prozente Zucker wieder verwendet werden zu können.
