Profile shaped rung as a carrier
If glass roofs or glass facades are to be erected, profiles are required as glass supports, which are preferably made of steel or light metal. These profiles are produced either by rolling (steel), extrusion (light metal) or from folded sheets of steel or light metal. Such a glass support profile should be strong and stiff. This is on the one hand by the material itself, on the other hand by the inertia or. Section modulus guaranteed. Different profile heights are therefore required for different lengths of the individual glasses and their loads.

Since these are already given for rolled or extruded profiles, it has already been proposed to assemble these profiles from individual parts such as head, web and foot, these also consisting of sheet metal or in particular the head and foot of rolled or extruded profiles. In this way, the web made of sheet metal could be adapted to the respective load on the profile, which can be done by calculation.

Sprouts as a carrier for roof and facade glasses were z. B. designed in such a way that on the head profile connected by the web to the foot profile rests a further web representing screw that holds the roof supporting the glass plates.

The subject of the invention is a profile-like shaped rung as a support for roof and facade glasses, preferably made of light metal, which is characterized in that the individual parts forming the head and foot are connected by a sheet made of sheet metal protruding over the head of the rung on which the roof supporting the glass plate is attached and its dimensions are adapted to its respective load.

However, a rung designed in this way represents a significant technical advance compared to the known types, because the roof supporting the glass plates can already be attached to the web connecting the head and foot and the head of the rung can thus be designed much easier.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the rung according to the invention. The web plate b, which carries the canopy e to which the glass plates d are attached, protrudes over the head a of the rung made of corrugated iron. The head plate a and the foot plate c are riveted to the web plate b at f and g. The foot c can also be designed like a profile.
