Abstract

In a hinge (1) for doors and/or furniture doors, a first hinge body (1a) and a second hinge body (1b) are connected to one another by a joint device (2), wherein at least one of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b) comprises: a main part (10a, 10b) to which the joint device (2) is connected; a flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) which is formed integrally with the main part (10a, 10b) or is connected to it and extends outwards from it; at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) of the at least one flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) which conceals the fastening means of the hinge (1). Means for magnetic interaction between the at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) and the respective flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) are provided, which, when the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) is brought close to a front surface (110a, 120a, 110b, 120b) of the respective flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b), determine its releasable attachment to the flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b).

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a hinge for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element.

[0002] Hinges typically consist of a first fastening body, which can be attached to a frame or to a door leaf or door, a second fastening body, which can be attached to the door or door leaf or to the frame, and a hinge device connecting them together in such a way as to allow relative movement (generally a rotational movement) between a closed configuration (i.e., when the door or door leaf is closed) and an open configuration (i.e., when the door or door leaf is open). The two fastening bodies can be recessed into a corresponding "cut-out" seat or recess in the jamb or in the door or door leaf. In this case, when closed, they generally define a seat in which the hinge device is housed in such a way that, when the door or door leaf is closed, the hinge is essentially invisible from either side of the door or door leaf.

[0003] The hinge bodies typically comprise a central section and two end sections located at opposite ends of the central section. These end sections include flange sections in which the means for fastening to the frame or door leaf or door are received and/or housed, e.g., the through holes for the fastening screws. Therefore, the front surfaces of the flange zones typically include functional elements (such as holes for fastening screws, stop and locking elements, etc.) that are visible on the front surfaces themselves, resulting in a less than optimal visual effect when the door is open and the front surfaces are therefore visible.

[0004] To solve this problem, a cover element is applied to each front surface of the respective flange zones. The cover element is secured to the respective front surface by means of mechanical locking or engagement means, in some cases also by means of screw means. These mechanical means are sometimes inaccurate or difficult to operate or remove. With screw means, the screw head is still visible even when the front surface of the flange zone is covered.

The object of the present invention is to provide a hinge for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element, wherein the cover element is easily attachable to and detachable from the front surface of the respective flange zone and does not adversely affect its appearance. A further object of the present invention is to provide a hinge for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element, wherein the positioning of the cover element is stable and precise.

[0005] These and other objects, which will become apparent from the following description, are achieved according to the present invention by a hinge for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element having the structural and functional features according to the appended independent claims, further embodiments of which are specified in the appended and corresponding dependent claims. The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings, which represent only one exemplary and non-limiting embodiment.

[0006] With reference to the figures, a hinge 1 for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element comprises a first hinge body 1a and a second hinge body 1b, which are interconnected by a joint device 2 that enables the relative movement of the first hinge body 1a and the second hinge body 1b between a first configuration corresponding to an open state of the hinge 1 and a second configuration corresponding to a closed state of the hinge 1. The open state of the hinge 1 corresponds to the open state of the door or door leaf. The closed state of the hinge 1 corresponds to the closed state of the door or door leaf. The frame and the door or door leaf are not shown in the figures. The relative movement of the first hinge body 1a with respect to the second hinge body 1b (and vice versa) is typically a rotational movement about a (usually vertical) axis, which may be either fixed or movable, with a movement that depends on the geometry of the hinge 1, in particular on the features of its articulation device 2. These features are well known in their generality to those skilled in the art and will not be discussed further here unless absolutely necessary.

[0007] At least one of the first hinge body 1a or the second hinge body 1b comprises a main part 10a, 10b, to which the hinge device 2 is connected, and at least one flange portion 11a, 12a, 11b, 12b in a single body with the main part 10a, 10b or integral therewith. Specifically (as will be clarified further below and shown in particular in Figure 4), the flange portion 11a, 12a, 11b, 12b consists of two parts, one of which is formed with the main part 10a, 10b in a single body (or in a single piece) with the main part, while the other is made integral with the first.

The at least one localized section 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b of the respective flange section 11a, 12a, 11b, 12b can also be manufactured by dispersing a certain percentage of sections of the material with magnetic properties in localized regions of a matrix without magnetic properties, thereby generating a magnetic field that acts on parts sensitive to the magnetic field. In this way, when the cover element 13a, 14a, 13b, 14b is brought close to the respective flange section 11a, 12a, 11b, 12b, the magnetic attraction force and thus the interaction between the two parts is effectively determined.

In particular, it provides a system for covering the front surfaces of the hinge flange portions, providing an aesthetic/visual effect without defects or visibility of functional elements that could impair the aesthetic impression. The interaction between the covering elements and the respective flange portions is reliable and precise. The invention thus conceived is subject to numerous modifications and variations, all of which fall within the scope of the inventive concept that characterizes it.

Claims (16)

Claims 1. Hinge (1) for doors and/or furniture doors with a cover element, of the type comprising a first hinge body (1a) and a second hinge body (1b) connected to each other by a hinge device (2) which enables the relative movement of the first hinge body (1a) and the second hinge body (1b) between a first configuration corresponding to an open state of the hinge (1) and a second configuration corresponding to a closed state of the hinge (1), wherein at least one of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b) comprises: - a main part (10a, 10b) to which the joint device (2) is connected; - at least one flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) formed in a single body or integrally with the main part (10a, 10b) and extending outwards from the latter, the flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) accommodating means for fixing the hinge (1) to a respective frame or to a respective leaf/door of a door or piece of furniture; - at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) of the at least one flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b), which conceals the fastening means of the hinge (1); wherein the hinge (1) further comprises means for the detachable connection and/or fastening of the at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) to the at least one flange section (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) and is characterized in that, in combination: - the means for detachably connecting and/or fastening the at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) comprise means for magnetic interaction between the at least one cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) and the respective flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b), which, when the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) is brought close to a front surface (110a, 120a, 110b, 120b) of the respective flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b), determine its removable fastening to the flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b); - the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) at one of its ends (130a, 140a, 130b, 140b) which is intended to be remote from the main part (10a, 10b) of the fastening body (1a, 1b) and at least partially along its sides (131a, 141a, 131b, 141b) extending from the remote end (130a, 140a, 130b, 140b) towards the main part (10a, 10b) of the fastening body (1a, 1b), has side edges (132a, 142a, 132b, 142b) which extend from the lying plane of the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) to the respective flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) and encompass outer side edges (111a, 121a, 111b, 121b) of the respective front surface (110a, 120a, 110b, 120b). 2, Hinge (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the at least one of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b) comprises: - a further flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b) which is arranged on the opposite side of the main part (10a, 10b) with respect to the at least one flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) and which also receives fastening means of the hinge (1) to a respective frame or to a respective door/wing of a door or piece of furniture; - a respective further cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) of the further flange section (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b) which conceals the fastening means of the hinge (1); the hinge (1) further comprises corresponding means for the removable connection and/or fastening of the further cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) to the further flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b), which means comprise means for a magnetic interaction between the further cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) and the further flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b), which, when the further cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) is brought into proximity with a front surface (120a, 110a, 120b, 110b) of the further flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b), enables its removable fastening to the further flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b) determine for themselves; - the further cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) at one of its ends (140a, 130a, 140b, 130b) which is intended to be remote from the main part (10a, 10b) of the fastening body (1a, 1b) and at least partially along its sides (141a, 131a, 141b, 131b) extending from the remote end to the main part (10a, 10b) of the fastening body (1a, 1b), has side edges (142a, 132a, 142b, 132b) which project from the lying plane of the cover element (14a, 13a, 14b, 13b) towards the respective flange portion (12a, 11a, 12b, 11b) and outer side edges (121a, 111a, 121b, 111b) of the respective front surface (120a, 110a, 120b, 110b). 3. Hinge (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that the other of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b) also has, identically and symmetrically to at least one of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b), two respective flange portions (11b, 12b, 11a, 12a) with respective front surfaces (110b, 120b, 110a, 120a), to which two respective cover elements (13b, 14b, 13a, 14a) are attached by means of respective removable connecting and/or fastening means comprising magnetic interaction means identical to those present on at least one of the first hinge body (1a) or the second hinge body (1b). 4. Hinge (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the side edges (132a, 142a, 132b, 142b) of the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) extend over the entire length of its sides (131a, 141a, 131b, 141b). 5. Hinge (1) according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) consists of a material sensitive to the magnetic field and is attracted by it and influenced by the magnetic field generated by the at least one localized portion (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) of the respective flange portion (11a, 12a, 11b, 12b) when the cover element (13a, 14a, 13b, 14b) is brought into proximity with the respective front surface (110a, 120a, 110b, 120b), thereby determining its releasable attachment to the front surface (110a, 120a, 110b, 120b) itself. 8.
