Kästen aus Gussbeton mit Holzwolle, haben zwar eine bessere Isoliereigenschaft, sind jedoch aufgrund des hohen Eigengewichts in der Fertigung und der Montage eine finanzielle Belastung. Kästen aus Holzplatten haben keine Resistenz gegenüber Umwelteinflüssen wie UV- Bestrahlung, Schimmelbildung Verrottung und haben den Nachteil dass durch Trockenheit, Feuchtigkeit und Temperatur- Schwankungen Risse im Putz entstehen können. Eine gute Isolation mit einem geringen Gewicht haben Kästen, gefertigt aus Styroporschäumen, jedoch müssen hier noch Metallschienen eingetrieben werden um eine Stabilität zu erhalten. Eine eventuelle zusätzliche Fixierung am Mauerwerk mit Hilfe von Schrauben ist hier nicht möglich.
