Abstract

Producto fertilizante que comprende gránulos expansibles que contienen azufre elemental y un material que se hincha o expande en el suelo para dispersar más rápidamente el azufre elemental de superficie en todo el suelo, lo que incrementa el área de superficie del azufre elemental disponible para la oxidación, y por último la captación del azufre por la planta. El azufre elemental y el material pueden ser agregados a una composición de fosfato base ya sea como un recubrimiento exterior o co-granulados con la composición de fosfato base. Reivindicación 1: Un producto fertilizante que comprende gránulos expansibles que contienen azufre para uso en suelo, cada gránulo caracterizado porque comprende: una composición de fosfato base; azufre elemental en una cantidad de desde aproximadamente 0,1% en peso a aproximadamente 20% en peso; y un material configurado para absorber agua, en donde el material y el azufre elemental están co-granulados con y embebidos dentro de la composición de fosfato base de forma que, con la introducción de agua en el suelo, los gránulos están configurados para absorber agua y expandirse, dispersando así el azufre elemental dentro del suelo. Reivindicación 3: El producto fertilizante de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el material se selecciona a partir del grupo que consiste en bentonita, arcilla que absorbe agua, cáscara de Psyllium, almidón de maíz, goma carragenina, almidón de arroz, poliacrilato de sodio, glucosa, alginato de calcio, inulina, quitosano, carboximetilcelulosa, sílice pirógena, goma guar, Goma Xantano, goma garrofín, goma arábiga, y sus combinaciones. Reivindicación 5: El producto fertilizante de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el material está presente en una cantidad de aproximadamente 1% en peso a aproximadamente 20% en peso del gránulo. Reivindicación 8: El producto fertilizante de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque el azufre elemental está presente en una cantidad de aproximadamente 1% en peso a aproximadamente 10% en peso del gránulo. Reivindicación 11: El producto fertilizante de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque la composición de fosfato base se selecciona a partir del grupo que consiste en MAP, DAP, superfosfato triple y sus combinaciones. Reivindicación 13: El producto fertilizante de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque la composición de fosfato base comprende además un nutriente seleccionado a partir del grupo que consiste en boro (B), zinc (Zn), manganeso (Mn), molibdeno (Mo), níquel (Ni), cobre (Cu), hierro (Fe), cloro (Cl), azufre en su forma de sulfato oxidado (SO₄), magnesio (Mg), calcio (Ca), y sus combinaciones.
