Abstract
En un proceso para la epoxidación de propeno haciendo reaccionar propeno con peróxido de hidrógeno en presencia de un solvente metanólico y un catalizador de epoxidación de zeolita de titanio, las etapas de: separar de la mezcla de reacción un óxido de propeno crudo y una mezcla de solventes que comprende metanol, agua y peróxidos; someter la mezcla de solventes a una hidrogenación catalítica para hidrogenar peróxidos, proporcionar una mezcla de solventes hidrogenada que comprende entre 1 y 1000 mg/kg de acetaldehído; separar el solvente hidrogenado en al menos una etapa de destilación, agregando un ácido a la mezcla de solventes hidrogenada o a por lo menos una etapa de destilación, proporcionando un metanol recuperado como un producto de cabeza; hacer pasar el metanol recuperado a través de un lecho de una resina de intercambio iónico ácido, proporcionando un metanol tratado; y reciclar el metanol tratado a la reacción de epoxidación para evitar la desactivación del catalizador de la epoxidación mediante el reciclado del acetaldehído con el metanol.
