El uso de un alcoxilato de alcohol o un mezcla de alcoxilatos de alcohol como desespumante, antiespumante y/o desgasificante, donde el alcoxilato de alcohol o mezcla de alcoxilatos de alcohol comprende por lo menos un alcoxilato de alcohol, donde el alcoxilato de alcohol tiene una estructura molecular expuesta en la fórmula [1]: R-O-(CH₂(CH₃)CHO)ₘ-(CH₂CH₂O)ₙ-H [1] donde R es un grupo alquilo ramificado y/o lineal que tiene de 20 a 50 átomos de carbono, m = 10 - 40, y n = 0 - 5.
