Abstract

Proceso para tratar un aceite que comprende un derivado de clorofila. En particular, la presente divulgación se relaciona con un proceso mejorado para eliminar impurezas, que incluyen derivados de clorofila y/o metales traza, de un aceite usando un adsorbente que comprende un tipo de sílice tratado con un óxido de un metal alcalino-térreo, tal como óxido de magnesio. El proceso comprende poner el aceite en contacto con el adsorbente, en donde el pH del tipo de sílice es de aproximadamente 7 o más, inclusive entre aproximadamente 7 y aproximadamente 10. El proceso puede comprender además poner el aceite en contacto con un polipéptido que tiene actividad decolorasa, o con una composición que comprende al polipéptido, antes del contacto con el adsorbente.
