Abstract

Se describe un protector de sensor para el uso en una unidad de exhibición de mercadería con múltiples estantes que incluye múltiples sensores montados en una pared de la unidad y opuestos a una fuente de iluminación, donde cada sensor corresponde a un único estante y los estantes permiten al menos en parte el pasaje de iluminación a través de ellos. El protector comprende i) una placa con una longitud que es sustancialmente suficiente para reducir o impedir que la iluminación incidente desde el estante de arriba llegue al sensor; y ii) medios para unir la placa a la cubierta del sensor o alrededor de este o a la pared de la unidad. La placa es opaca a la iluminación detectada por el sensor. También se describe un método para reducir la interferencia de la luz en una unidad de exhibición de mercadería con múltiples estantes proveniente de estantes encima de un estante en el que se miden los niveles de stock y un método para monitorear los niveles de stock en una vitrina de exhibición para la venta mediante la medición de la luz que ingresa en la vitrina de exhibición para la venta.
