Un tubo metálico que comprende una capa de una masa de moldeo de poliamida que contiene en al menos el 50% en peso una proporción de poliamida, que se compone de los siguientes componentes: I) 60 al 98 partes en peso de una poliamida que comprende 10 a 70 meq/kg de grupos terminales carboxilo y posee una viscosidad de solución relativa hʳₑₗ, determinada según ISO 307, empleando una solución de 0,5% en peso en m-cresol a 25ºC, de como mínimo 1,90 así como II) 2 a 40 partes en peso de un copolímero de injerto poliamina-poliamida que se prepara con los siguientes monómeros: a) 0,5 al 25% en peso, respecto de la mezcla total de monómeros, de una poliamina con como mínimo 4 átomos de nitrógeno así como b) 75 al 99,5% en peso, respecto de la mezcla total de monómeros, de monómeros formadores de poliamida, seleccionados de lactamas, ácidos w-aminocarboxílicos y/o combinaciones equimolares de diamina y ácido dicarboxílico, con la condición que la concentración de los grupos amino del copolímero de injerto esté dentro del intervalo de 100 a 2500 meq/kg, siendo la suma de las partes en peso de I) y II) 100, se utiliza para el contacto con un medio de efecto hidrolizante. De ese modo, pueden alcanzarse vidas útiles más prolongadas así como una mejor tolerancia de temperaturas elevadas.
