Proceso para obtener borato de sodio y carbonato de litio a partir de un salmuera muy rica en Ca y Mg que contiene también litio y boro. El proceso para producir carbonato de litio, a partir de una salmuera rica en Ca y Mg, comprende los pasos de: (i) filtración del salmuera rica en Ca y Mg, (ii) tratamiento del filtrado con ácido clorhídrico, (iii) extracción con solventes (SX), (iv) una primera purificación del filtrado, (v) una segunda purificación del filtrado, (vi) una tercera purificación del filtrado, (vii) reacción del filtrado con un carbonato de sodio sobresaturado, (viii) espesamiento y filtrado de la pulpa resultante obtenida al final del paso (vii) y (ix) lavado y secado del carbonato de litio. Asimismo, el proceso para producir borato de sodio a partir de salmuera rica en Ca y Mg comprende los siguientes pasos de: (i) filtración de la salmuera rica en Ca y Mg, (ii) tratamiento del filtrado con ácido clorhídrico, (iii) producción de Na₂B₄O₇ por extracción con solventes (SX) de la salmuera acidificada obtenida al final del paso (ii), (iv) reducción de la cantidad de agua en la solución a fin de lograr el estado saturado obtenido al final del paso (iii) usando energía solar, (v) cristalización del Na₂B₄O₇ producido en el paso (iii) en un evaporador mediante uso de vapor a fin de calentar la solución para evaporar agua en forma de vapor y cristalizar Na₂B₄O₇, y (vi) cristalización de Na₂B₄O₇ por enfriamiento (vii) reciclaje de las aguas madres a fin de alimentar el evaporador usado en el paso (v).Process to obtain sodium borate and lithium carbonate from a brine very rich in Ca and Mg that also contains lithium and boron. Also, the process for producing sodium borate from brine rich in Ca and Mg comprises the following steps of: (i) filtration of brine rich in Ca and Mg, (ii) treatment of the filtrate with hydrochloric acid, (iii) production of Na₂B₄O₇ by solvent extraction (SX) of the acidified brine obtained at the end of step (ii), (iv) reduction of the amount of water in the solution in order to achieve the saturated state obtained at the end of step (iii) using solar energy, (v) crystallization of the Na₂B₄O₇ produced in step (iii) in an evaporator using steam to heat the solution to evaporate water in the form of steam and crystallize Na₂B₄O₇, and (vi) crystallization of Na₂B₄O₇ by cooling (vii) recycling of the mother liquors in order to feed the evaporator used in step (v).
