Abstract

La presente se basa en el resultado sorprendente de que los materiales de empaquetado que comprenden al menos un agente modulador de humedad pueden reducir de manera significativa la pérdida de humedad, daño físico y/o descomposición microbiana de los productos agrícolas. La inclusión de dichos agentes moduladores de humedad puede proporcionar al menos una de las siguientes ventajas: (1) un desarrollo menor de enfermedades en comparación con materiales de empaquetado tradicionales; (2) productos agrícolas más frescos y firmes que presenten menos descomposición o defectos (por ejemplo, cascaduras o roturas); (3) una mejor vista desde afuera en comparación con materiales de empaquetado tradicionales; (4) la prevención de humedad dentro de la bolsa proveniente de la formación de gotas grandes o incluso zonas de agua (es decir, una menor acumulación de agua o condensación de humedad dentro del paquete); y (5) el suministro de transmisión de gas suficiente de oxígeno (O₂) / dióxido de carbono (CO₂) y/o agente de gestión de calidad, por ejemplo, etileno o 1-MCP, para un control de calidad mejor durante el almacenamiento a temperatura ambiente (vida útil).
