Abstract
Se refiere a una planta que incluye un transgén que codifica un polipéptido heterólogo proveniente del hongo (Hirsutella) o de la cebolla (Allium) que confiere en una planta que expresa dicho polipéptido resistencia a un hemipteroides insecto chupador de savia. El transgén también se expresa en un componente vegetal (tal como una hoja). Generalmente, la expresión de dichos polipéptidos previene la alimentación por insectos tales como psílidos (tal como un psílido asiático de los cítricos, el psílido de los cítricos de África, o el psílido americano de los cítricos). Las plantas ejemplares útiles en la presente son cítricos o plantas solanáceas.
