Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Un método para controlar el crecimiento de las malezas en un ambiente de crecimiento del cultivo que comprende: a) aplicar una cantidad efectiva de un herbicida dicamba en un ambiente de crecimiento del cultivo; b) plantar una semilla transgénica de una planta monocotiledónea que expresa un ácido nucleico que codifica la dicamba monooxigenasa en el suelo del ambiente de crecimiento del cultivo dentro de los 15 días de aplicación del herbicida dicamba, donde la cantidad efectiva para uso como herbicida es una cantidad que no daña la semilla transgénica o una planta que germina de la misma sino que dañará a una semilla o planta que germina de la misma del mismo genotipo que carece del ácido nucleico y se planta en las mismas condiciones que la semilla transgénica; y c) permitir que la semilla germine en una planta. Reivindicación 14: Un método para controlar el crecimiento de malezas en un ambiente de crecimiento del cultivo que comprende: a) plantar una semilla transgénica en un campo que comprende una maleza o una semilla de la misma, donde la semilla transgénica comprende un transgén que confiere tolerancia al glifosato y un transgén que confiere tolerancia a dicamba; b) tratar el campo con una cantidad efectiva de dicamba, glifosato o una mezcla de los mismos, donde la plantación y el tratamiento se hace en un paso único a través del campo; y c) cultivar la semilla transgénica en una planta donde la semilla transgénica proviene de una planta monocotiledónea seleccionada del grupo que consiste en maíz, arroz, sorgo, trigo, centeno, mijo, caña de azúcar, avena, triticale, césped de pradera y césped.
