Abstract
Se revelan composiciones esporicidas, y sus métodos de uso. Las composiciones esporicidas contienen agua, un solvente orgánico, y un agente de germinación de esporas que contiene una fuente de yodo, una fuente de citrato o ambas. Las composiciones tienen actividad esporicida contra, por ej., esporas de Clostridium difficile. Las composiciones esporicidas pueden usarse solas, o pueden formar parte de una composición desinfectante o composición antiséptica. Reivindicación 1: Una composición esporicida, que comprende: agua; una cantidad qₛ de solvente orgánico, donde qₛ es aproximadamente 5% hasta aproximadamente 60% p/p; y una cantidad qᵍ₁ de agente de germinación de esporas, donde qᵍ₁ es aproximadamente 0,05% hasta aproximadamente 5% p/p; donde: el solvente orgánico comprende un glicol, glicerina, un éter de glicol, un polietilenglicol o dimetil isosorbida; y el agente de germinación de esporas comprende: una cantidad qⁱ₁ de fuente de yodo, o una cantidad qᶜ₁ de fuente de citrato, o una combinación de las mismas; donde: qᵍ₁ ³ qⁱ₁ + qᶜ₁; y al menos una de qⁱ₁ y qᶜ₁ es al menos aproximadamente 0,05% p/p. Reivindicación 56: La composición esporicida de la reivindicación 55, donde la fuente de yodo se compone esencialmente de yoduro de potasio. Reivindicación 59: La composición esporicida de la reivindicación 57, donde la fuente de citrato se compone esencialmente de uno o más de ácido cítrico, citrato de sodio monobásico o un hidrato del mismo, citrato de sodio dibásico o un hidrato del mismo, o citrato de sodio tribásico o un hidrato del mismo. Reivindicación 61: La composición esporicida de la reivindicación 59, donde la fuente de citrato se compone esencialmente de citrato de sodio tribásico dihidrato. Reivindicación 62: Una composición desinfectante, que comprende: la composición esporicida de cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 61; y un desinfectante. Reivindicación 63: La composición desinfectante de la reivindicación 62, donde el desinfectante comprende un desinfectante de alcohol, un desinfectante de aldehído, un desinfectante oxidante, un desinfectante fenólico, un desinfectante de amonio cuaternario, un clorhexidina gluconato, polihexametilen biguanida, o 4-cloro-3,5-dimetilfenol.
