Abstract

Un proceso de fermentación de syngas (Gas de síntesis o sintegas) y un medio de fermentación que proveen una gran productividad de etanol eliminando al mismo tiempo los componentes del medio que fueron considerados como esenciales con anterioridad. El proceso es eficaz para proveer un STY (Rendimiento espacio-tiempo) específico de al menos aproximadamente 1 g de etanol/(L·día·gramo de células). En este aspecto, el medio de fermentación tiene una relación ponderal de NH₄⁺ a B de aproximadamente 625:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de NH₄⁺ a Mn de aproximadamente 4050:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de NH₄⁺ a Mo de aproximadamente 2500:1 o más, o una relación de NH₄⁺ a Cu de aproximadamente 4050:1 o más; o el medio de fermentación tiene una relación ponderal de P a B de aproximadamente 30:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de P a Mn de aproximadamente 190:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de P a Mo de aproximadamente 120:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de Mn a Cu de aproximadamente 190:1 o más; o el medio de fermentación tiene una relación ponderal de K a B de aproximadamente 35:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de K a Mn de aproximadamente 245:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de K a Mo de aproximadamente 150:1 o más, o una relación ponderal de K a Cu de aproximadamente 245:1 o más.
