Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Un panel de yeso que comprende: una composición de yeso fraguado dispuesta entre dos láminas de revestimiento, la composición de yeso fraguado que comprende una matriz de interconexión de yeso fraguado formado de una suspensión que comprende estuco, agua, y silicato metálico; la composición de yeso fraguado que comprende gel de sílice; y el panel de yeso que tiene una densidad de aproximadamente 15 libras/ft³ a aproximadamente 42 libras/ft³ y un índice de resistencia al fuego mayor de aproximadamente 53 minutos. Reivindicación 9: Un método de aumentar la resistencia al fuego de un panel de yeso que comprende: formar una suspensión que comprende estuco, agua, y silicato metálico, disponer la suspensión entre las dos láminas de revestimiento para formar una preforma del panel, cortar la preforma del panel en un panel de yeso de dimensiones predeterminadas después de que la suspensión se ha endurecido suficientemente para el corte, y secar el panel de yeso; donde al menos una porción del silicato metálico se convierte en gel de sílice; el panel de yeso que tiene aumento de resistencia al fuego en comparación con un panel que no tiene gel de sílice, una densidad de aproximadamente 15 libras/ft³ a aproximadamente 42 libras/ft³, y un índice de resistencia al fuego mayor de aproximadamente 53 minutos.
