Abstract
Una válvula esférica incluye un cuerpo de válvula que comprende un primer miembro y un segundo miembro. El cuerpo de la válvula define un eje de válvula y un pasaje para el flujo de fluido. Un elemento esférico tiene un puerto y un vástago de la esfera que gira alrededor de un eje del vástago de la esfera entre una posición abierta que permite el flujo del fluido a través del pasaje de flujo de fluido y una posición cerrada que inhibe el flujo a través del mismo. Un sello se ubica entre el primer y el segundo miembros del cuerpo y define un grosor que disminuye a medida que el sello del cuerpo se aleja del eje de la válvula. Un sello del vástago define una forma sustancialmente frusto-cónica y esté dispuesto en el cuerpo de la válvula. El vástago de la esfera se extiende a través del sello del vástago para formar un sello entre el vástago de la esfera y el sello del vástago y entre el sello del vástago y el cuerpo de la válvula.
