Abstract

Un proceso de encriptación y desencriptación de datos, particularmente para uso en tarjetas inteligentes, en el cual los datos son encriptados utilizando una clave de encriptación derivada de un patrón de huella digital. El patrón de huella digital es almacenado, en forma no encriptada, en una memoria, que aparte del patrón de huella digital contiene valores de datos aleatorios para ocultar el patrón de huella digital. El patrón puede ser dividido en componentes almacenados en distintas ubicaciones en la memoria para incrementar la seguridad. La desencriptación es realizada mediante, primeramente, escaneando una huella digital para obtener un nuevo patrón, comparando el nuevo patrón con el previamente almacenado y, de existir coincidencia, regenerando la clave de encriptación del patrón previamente almacenado. La clave de encriptación regenerada es luego utilizada para desencriptar los datos.
