Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Procedimiento hidrometalúrgico para lixiviar minerales de óxido de cobre que permite producir cátodos, láminas o precipitado de cobre, que utiliza un agente lixiviante orgánico no contaminante caracterizado porque comprende las siguientes etapas: a) lixiviación del mineral de óxido de cobre, en la que, una vez trasladado el mineral desde la mina, se procede a la molienda primaria, secundaria y terciaria de dicho mineral para su clasificación, luego de lo cual es trasportado a una fase de aglomeración para ser impregnado con un lixiviante que consiste en una solución acuosa compuesta por ácido tricarboxilico (C6H8O7) en combinación con agua (H2O), en una mezcla tal en que la acidez varía entre un pH de 1,0 y 5,0; el mineral ya impregnado es trasladado y acopiado en pilas de lixiviación, las que son irrigadas con el lixiviante previamente especificado mediante un manejo sistemático que consiste en dividir o parcelar las pilas de lixiviación en sectores, los que son regados secuencialmente con el lixiviante, obteniendo así un citrato de cobre concentrado; b) electro-depositación del citrato de cobre obtenido el cual es conducido y vaciado, mediante un flujo controlado, a tinas de electro-depositación, las que contienen ánodos y cátodos alimentados por un voltaje continuo que varía entre 0,1 y 7,0 Volts, a una densidad de corriente que varía entre 5,0 y 300,0 amperes por metro cuadrado; c) recuperación de pilas de lixiviación por medio de una segunda molienda del mineral ya agotado de las pilas de lixiviación, que consiste en una molienda húmeda en la que se emplea el lixiviante previamente singularizado, aplicando una agitación mecánica por un tiempo de residencia controlado, determinado conforme a la cinética de lixiviación de cada mineral, lo cual genera una pulpa que permite lixiviar el núcleo de dicho mineral, la que, una vez filtrada, produce licor de cobre adicional y que permite recuperar los metales nobles (oro, plata y platino), como también los sulfuros de cobre que pudieren estar aún contenidos.
