Abstract
Método eficiente de separación sólido-líquido para el tratamiento de un material de residuos biológicos. El método contempla el agregado de ciertos polielectrolitos catiónicos (o “polímeros” según se usa aquí) a los materiales de residuos biológicos antes de la separación sólido-líquido, como por ejemplo por centrifugación, para facilitar así mucho el subsiguiente paso de separación sólido-líquido. Una vez que la porción de líquido se separa de la porción sólida usando los métodos sujeto, se puede someter a manipulaciones adicionales corriente abajo para la recuperación de nutrientes (tales como precipitación de fosfatos y agotamiento de amoníaco) con una eficiencia potencialmente mejor, o se puede utilizar directamente en varias operaciones, por ejemplo como diluyente líquido para materias primas en una planta de etanol.
