Abstract
Se revelan métodos y composiciones para modular el desarrollo de plantas. Se proveen secuencias de nucleotidos y secuencias de aminoácidos que codifican las proteínas ACC Sintasa 3 (ACS3). Las secuencias pueden ser utilizadas en una variedad de métodos que incluyen modular el desarrollo, modular la respuesta al estrés, y modular la tolerancia al estrés de una planta. Además se proveen plantas, células de plantas, tejidos, y semillas transformadas. Reivindicacion 1: Un polipéptido aislado que comprende una secuencia de aminoácidos seleccionada del grupo integrado por: (a) un polipéptido que comprende la secuencia de aminoácidos de la Id. de Sec. Nro.: 3; y (b) un polipéptido que posee por lo menos 90% identidad de secuencia con la Id. de Sec. Nro.: 3, en tanto dicho polipéptido posee actividad de ACC Sintasa 3 (ACS3). Reivindicacion 2: Un polinucleotido aislado seleccionado del grupo integrado por: (a) un polinucleotido que comprende la Id. de Sec. Nro.: 1 o 2; (b) un polinucleotido que codifica la secuencia de aminoácidos de la Id. de Sec. Nro.: 3; y (c) un polinucleotido que posee por lo menos 90% de identidad de secuencia con la Id. de Sec. Nro.: 1 o 2, en tanto dicho polinucleotido codifica un polipéptido que posee actividad de ZmACS3.
