Abstract
La presente se relaciona con péptidos antimicrobianos, aislados y purificados a partir de extractos de branquias de tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Dichos péptidos pueden ser producidos por síntesis química o en sistemas de expresión heterólogos, como bacterias y levaduras, por técnicas convencionales de biología molecular. Estos péptidos muestran actividad antimicrobiana contra diversos organismos, entre ellos bacterias Gram positivas, bacterias Gram negativas, hongos y virus. La presente también incluye composiciones para el control de agentes patógenos que comprenden estos péptidos antimicrobianos. El empleo de dichos péptidos en preparaciones vacunales, como adyuvante molecular, es también parte de la presente.
