Abstract
Muchos de los dispositivos accionados por energía undimotriz (“WPDs”) conocidos comprenden (1) un flotador, (2) un impulsor sumergido, y (3) un amarre que conecta al flotador con el impulsor sumergido. El impulsor sumergido genera un empuje cuando el flotador se mueve de manera ascendente y descendente debido a las ondas de la superficie. El WPD de la presente provee de un amarre rígido que se puede mover entre (a) una primera posición (“posición adyacente”) en la cual por lo menos una parte del amarre queda adyacente al flotador y (b) una segunda posición (“posición extendida”) en la cual el amarre (i) se extiende por debajo del flotador e (ii) es sustancialmente rígido por lo menos en parte. Si se desea, el WPD se puede transportar, almacenar, o arrojar mientras el amarre se encuentra en la posición adyacente, y el amarre se puede desplazar a la posición extendida luego de arrojar el dispositivo y permanecer en la posición extendida mientras se está operando el dispositivo.
