Abstract
Un códec de audio que soporta tanto modos de codificación en el dominio del tiempo como en el dominio de la frecuencia, que tiene bajo retardo y mayor eficiencia de codificación en términos de relación de tasa/distorsión, se obtiene mediante la configuración del codificador de audio de manera que este opera en diferentes modos de operación, de manera que si el modo de operación activo es un primer modo de operación, un grupo dependiente del modo de modos de codificación de trama disponibles está separado en un primer subgrupo de modos de codificación en el dominio del tiempo, y se superpone con un segundo subgrupo de modos de codificación en el dominio de la frecuencia, mientras que si el modo de operación activo es un segundo modo de operación, el grupo dependiente del modo de modos de codificación de trama disponibles se superpone con ambos subgrupos, es decir, el subgrupo de modos de codificación en el dominio del tiempo al igual que el subgrupo de modos de codificación en el dominio de la frecuencia.
