Abstract
Un motor eléctrico reconfigurable que incluye un rotor que contiene imanes permanentes rotativos o piezas de derivación magnéticamente no conductivas. Los imanes y/o las piezas de derivación tienen una primera posición para producir un campo magnético débil para un funcionamiento asincrónico del motor de inducción en el arranque a una segunda posición para producir un campo magnético fuerte para un funcionamiento sincrónico eficiente. El motor incluye una jaula de ardilla para el funcionamiento inductivo en el arranque con los imanes permanentes y/o las piezas de derivación posicionadas para producir un campo magnético débil para no interferir en el arranque. Cuando el motor se acerca o alcanza RPM sincrónica, los imanes permanentes y/o las piezas de derivación giran para producir un campo magnético fuerte para un funcionamiento sincrónico eficiente. La posición de los imanes y/o las pieza de derivación puede ser controlada por un mecanismo centrífugo, o de amortiguación viscosa que puede retrasar la rotación de los imanes y/o las piezas de derivación o bajo el control de aparatos eléctricos que pueden controlar las posiciones de los imanes y/o las piezas de derivación.
