Abstract

En las realizaciones de la presente solicitud se proveen productos de acuicultura mejorados y renovables y métodos para producir dichos productos de acuicultura, los cuales comprenden incorporar lípidos más saludables, que contienen ácido estearidonico y ácido gamma linolénico, en los alimentos para acuicultura. A su vez, esto permite mejorar el perfil de salud de los animales acuáticos, promover el crecimiento y permitir que haya un desarrollo comercial adicional y mensurable. Además, en las realizaciones de la presente se proveen métodos para obtener dichos productos. En una realizacion de la solicitud, un animal de acuicultura puede ser alimentado con un alimento que comprende un producto vegetal transgénico. En otras realizaciones de la solicitud, se describen productos a base de carne de peces de agua fría, productos a base de carne de peces de agua cálida y productos a base de carne de crustáceos que comprenden SDA, GLA, EPA y DHA. En otras realizaciones de la solicitud, se describen alimentos para productos de acuicultura que comprenden SDA y GLA.
