Abstract

Reivindicacion 1: Un método para controlar insectos y/o ácaros, caracterizado porque comprende aplicar a una planta o parte de planta y/o aplicarle al área que rodea a una planta o parte de planta una cantidad eficaz como insecticida de una composicion que comprende (i) una mezcla simulada de un extracto de aceite esencial de Chenopodium ambrosioides cuasi ambrosioides, en donde la mezcla simulada consiste esencialmente de alfa-terpineno sustancialmente puro, p-cimeno y limoneno, en donde cada uno entre alfa-terpineno sustancialmente puro, p-cimeno y limoneno no se obtiene de un extracto de Chenopodium y (ii) un vehículo. Reivindicacion 2: El método de la reivindicacion 1, caracterizado porque los compuestos alfa-terpineno y p-cimeno se produjeron mediante síntesis y el limoneno se obtiene de una planta distinta de Chenopodium. Reivindicacion 8: Una composicion, caracterizada porque comprende una cantidad eficaz como insecticida de (i) una mezcla simulada de un extracto de aceite esencial de Chenopodium ambrosioides cuasi ambrosioides, en donde la mezcla simulada consiste esencialmente de un relleno de volumen y alfa-terpineno, p-cimeno y limoneno sustancialmente puros, en donde cada uno entre los compuestos alfa-terpineno, p-cimeno y limoneno sustancialmente puros no se obtienen de un extracto de Chenopodium y (ii) un vehículo. Reivindicacion 9: La composicion de la reivindicacion 6, caracterizada porque el vehículo y/o el relleno de volumen es un aceite vegetal.
