Abstract
Las aves de corral muertas se ponen en contacto con agua tratada con uno o más biocidas de dihalodialquiIhidantoína especificados, en una operacion de procesamiento corriente descendente de un tanque de escaldado. El efluente acuoso de la operacion corriente descendente, o de cualquier ubicacion más abajo, se recicla al tanque de escaldado. De manera sorprendente, los residuos de bromo de los biocidas de dihalodialquiIhidantoína son mucho más térmicamente inestables que, por ejemplo, los del microbiocida comunmente utilizado hipoclorito sodico. En consecuencia, el efluente del tanque de escaldado tiene su contenido de bromo activo reducido de manera significativa antes de ser enviado a una instalacion de purificacion de agua, donde se usa la accion microbiana a fin de reducir la DBO del agua de. desecho, antes de su liberacion al medio ambiente.
