Abstract
Se dan a conocer en el presente documento procesos mejorados para procesar almidon a partir de fuentes vegetales, incluyendo procesos para la licuefaccion de almidon, para la licuefaccion y sacarificacion simultáneas, y para la preparacion de etanol. Estos procesos pueden realizarse sin un ajuste del pH y a temperaturas relativamente bajas. Los procesos pueden implicar el uso de material vegetal que contiene almidon derivado de plantas que expresan enzimas de digestion de almidon. Se refiere además a procesos mejorados para la preparacion de otros productos derivados de almidon, incluyendo granos secos de destilería (granos secos de destilería) y materiales solubles y granos secos de destilería (materiales solubles y granos secos de destilería), y a los propios productos derivados de almidon. Reivindicacion 1: Método de reduccion de la viscosidad de un mosto que comprende las etapas de, a) moler el material vegetal que comprende entre aproximadamente el 0,5% y aproximadamente el 100% de mezcla de una planta transgénica que expresa al menos una enzima de digestion de almidon; b) combinar el material vegetal molido con un líquido para formar un mosto en un tanque de suspension; y c) hidrolizar el almidon en el mosto para alcanzar una viscosidad inferior a 3000 cP.
