Abstract

Métodos para controlar la durabilidad de y/o la cantidad de aire en formulaciones de hormigon que incluyen combinar cemento, agua y opcionalmente agregados, agregados en polvo y/o aditivos para formar una mezcla de cemento; y agregar partículas pre-hinchadas a la mezcla de cemento para formar una formulacion de hormigon. Las partículas pre-hinchadas tienen un diámetro de partícula promedio de 0,2 mm a 3 mm, una densidad en bloque de 0,015 g/cc a 0,35 g/cc, una relacion entre dimensiones de 1 a3, y una superficie exterior continua y lisa. La formulacion de hormigon solidificada y endurecida típicamente tiene un modulo dinámico relativo de por lo menos 70% determinado de acuerdo con el Procedimiento A del ASTM C666 (2003). La cantidad deaire en el hormigon típicamente aumenta sobre la cantidad de aire en formulaciones similares que no contienen partículas pre-hinchadas, determinada de acuerdo con el ASTM C231, en base al porcentaje del volumen de las pre-hinchadas. Lasformulaciones de hormigon pueden usarse para hacer artículos. Reivindicacion 22: Una composicion de hormigon que comprende 8-20 por ciento del volumen de cemento,11-50 por ciento del volumen de agregado fino, 9-40 por ciento del volumen deagregado grueso, 7-30 por ciento del volumen de agua, y 6 a 40 por ciento del volumen de partículas pre-hinchadas, en donde la proporcion w/w de agua a cementosos es de 0,25 a 0,6; en donde las partículas pre-hinchadas tienen un diámetro departícula promedio de 0,2 mm a 3 mm, una densidad en bloque de 0,015 g/cc a 0,35 g/cc, una relacion entre dimensiones de 1 a 3, y una superficie exterior continua y lisa; en donde la composicion de hormigon solidificada y endurecida tiene un modulodinámico relativo (RDM) de por lo menos 70% determinado de acuerdo con el Procedimiento A del ASTM C666 (2003); y en donde la composicion de hormigon solidificada y endurecida durante 28 días tiene una resistencia a la compresion de por lo menos1400 psi probada de acuerdo con el ASTM C39.
