Abstract
Preparacion de N-(fosfonometil)glicina (ôglifosatoö) a partir de ácido N-(fosfonometil)iminodiacético (ôPMIDAö), y más en particular, métodos para controlar la conversion de PMIDA, identificar puntos finales de reaccion relativos a la conversion de PMIDA y a la preparacion de productos de glifosato con contenido de PMIDA controlado. Reivindicacion 1: Un proceso para preparar N-(fosfonometil)glicina que comprende la oxidacion de ácido N-(fosfonometil)iminodiacético o una sal del mismo caracterizado porque dicho proceso comprende: poner en contacto ácido N-(fosfonometil)iminodiacético con un agente oxidante en un medio de reaccion acuoso dentro de una zona de reaccion de oxidacion en presencia de un catalizador de oxidacion, para efectuar de esa manera la oxidacion de ácido N-(fosfonometil)glicina u otro intermediario que se puede convertir a N-(fosfonometil)glicina; y seguir tratando dicha solucion de reaccion para obtener un producto N-(fosfonometil)glicina que no contiene más de aproximadamente 600ppm de ácido N-(fosfonometil)iminodiacético o una sal del mismo; donde la oxidacion de ácido N-(fosfonometil)iminodiacético en dicho medio de reaccion acuoso se continua hasta que la concentracion de ácido N- (fosfonometil)iminodiacético en dicho medio de reaccion se haya reducido hasta una concentracion terminal de tal manera que dicho tratamiento adicional rinde un producto N-(fosfonometil)glicina con un contenido de ácido N- (fosfonometil)iminodiacético no mayor de aproximadamente 600ppm en peso en base a la N-(fosfonometil)glicina.
