Abstract

Un sistema de revestimiento, para ser usado para reducir la oxidacion por quemadura por aire de un ánodo de carbon de un fundidor electrolítico de aluminio, incluye una pre-capa y una capa superior, las cuales permiten conjuntamente la proteccion del ánodo cuando son aplicadas sobre el mismo. La pre-capa contiene un material carbonoso finamente dividido, que comprende una por lo menos de alumina y criolita, dispersado en una solucion de un aglutinante adecuado.
