Abstract

Se describen composiciones, fuentes de aislamiento y usos para composiciones con contenido de policosanol. Se describen corrientes de subproductos y/o "deshechos" de procesamiento de semillas y plantas por su contenido de policosanoles, con diversas cantidades relativas de los diversos alcoholes grasos/cerosos de cadena larga. Los policosanoles son aislados y pueden ser combinados con otros productos de fitoquímicos de procesamiento, y se los utiliza en numerosas aplicaciones de alimentos, bebidas y/o nutracéuticas. Reivindicación 1: Un método para obtener policosanoles que comprende aislar los policosanoles de una corriente de procesamiento de semillas o granos o una corriente de procesamiento de aceite vegetal.
