Abstract
Un dispositivo para iniciar un detonador eléctrico utilizando un circuito abierto para reducir la ocurrencia de detonaciones accidentales. El dispositivo puede incluir una carcasa del iniciador, como mínimo dos pernos conductores colocados a través de la carcasa del iniciador, espaciados en la carcasa de modo que los pernos conductores queden eléctricamente aislados el uno del otro, y un material de carga iniciadora colocado entre los pernos conductores. Este material puede estar formado por una mezcla de material reactivo y componente metálico. The device may include an initiator housing, at least two conductive bolts placed through the initiator housing, spaced apart in the housing such that the conductive bolts are electrically isolated from each other, and an initiating charge material placed between the conductive bolts This material may be formed by a mixture of reactive material and metal component. The initiator charge material has electrical properties that provide resistance to the conduction of an electrical current in order to maintain an open circuit condition until reaching a breakdown voltage that depends on the amount of metal component in the initiator charge material, the which subsequently produces a conductive means when an arc occurs between the conductive bolts that arises with voltages higher than the breaking voltage. Finally, its electrical properties are such that the electric arc provides the energy necessary to form a plasma from the starting charge material, which leads to the initiation of the detonator.
